Cochin Bridge - Cheruthuruthy - Shornur

, Bound up on both sides, on the east by the Western Ghats mountain range and on the west by the Arabian Sea, Kerala has always lived in partial isolation from the rest of India. In ancient times the pass at the centre of this mountain range, known as the Palghat Gap was (it still is!) the only easy overland route to and from this state. Access to this pass was denied the southern areas by a river called Bharathapuzha. Although it was formidable only during the monsoon rains, it was an obstacle all year round. KISMA

- Eleven new self-financing Ayurveda Colleges were formed, once sanctions were received. (The Government has three colleges and aids another two.) These new colleges found that it is wise to put up a united front. The eleven self-financing colleges formed KISMA (KERALA STATE INDIAN SYSTEM OF MEDICINE SELF-FINANCING MANAGEMENT ASSOCIATION), an association to ensure they are not left out where it matters. Manju V Nair

- Manju. V.Nair (born 30 may 1988) is a well-known dancer from Kerala, India. The daughter of Classical Dancer Uma devi, and V.K Rajagopal. She has got bachelor’s degree in Bharathanatyam with First rank from Sree Sankaracharya University of Sanskrit, Kalady and Master’s in Bhrathanatyam with gold medal from Bangalore University. Encouraged by her parents, Manju.V. Nair started learning dance from Guru Indira at the age of four. Mohiniyattam

- Mohiniyattam is a traditional South Indian dance from Kerala It is one of the eight Indian classical dance forms. It is considered a very graceful dance meant to be performed as a solo recital by women. The term Mohiniyattam comes from the words "Mohini" meaning a woman who enchants onlookers and "aattam" meaning graceful and sensuous body movements.
